Trying to figure out a melee skill to go with 6L lightning warstaff

the item is too bad to be worth using even for some sub-optimal build, sorry.. base damage is very low for 2H, speed moderate, low crit, and the +2 gem level does not scale attacks well (except elemental hit) and the rest is just a bit of increased damage.

I would happily vendor it for a Divine orb and move on

Well to be fair, you might be right, but it might be the best item i ever found. I played a lightning strike raider once and most guides appreciated high amounts of ele dmg (which this has) and 6 lvl 22 gems cant be bad, right?

Low base is what i understand, but e.g. lightning strik would add up with that extra lightning dmg on the weapon, right?
