Laboratory Map with no boss portal when interacting with lever in "Nightmare"

I was clearing the map and activated Nightmare while on the last corner of the map, took the portal to go back to the center of the map and interacted with the center lever. Once I got out of Nightmare, the center portal did not spawn.
