Idea for the 'Viper strike' skill

My major concern about the Shadow class, for as far as I've played it enough, is that he's not really good at AoE and fighting large groups of monsters. Aside from the fire trap, three of which can only be placed at once, he pretty much has to kill mob per mob.

I could be mistaken, but I get the impression that the greatest trait/strategy/intention of the Shadow class revolves around dealing damage over time (DoT): both the fire trap's scorched earth, as the viper strike's poison damage slowly eat away the opponent's health.

I kinda like this approach: apply one lethal strike to an enemy, unaware of his fate, to see him drop dead after a second or 2-3 :) This does have one drawback: if you want to make maximum use of the DoT, you have to hit each mob only once. And that's not easy at all, so troublesome even that I think many people won't find it worthwile.

What would make it cooler, and even more emphasize this DoT aspect of the Shadow, would be to change Viper strike so that using the skill always automatically targets the enemy with the highest remaining health, close enough to the player to be hit - comparable to flicker strike, which also automatically targets an enemy, but without the teleporting - only target enemies within melee range.

I think this would make using this skill (and dealing DoT with the Shadow class in general) much more enjoyable.
