Class Specific Attributes
I couldn't find anything using the search as this is a really general topic on stats.
It was clear to me the different focuses on each class (pure str/int/dex and hybrids), but I never knew how to truly differentiate between them all as everyone can use the same weapons if they have the required stats. Someone told me that characters like the Marauder get a 4% bonus to damage reduction and the Ranger gets a 15% bonus to attack speed, but I couldn't find any of these class specifics on the character creation page. Did I just miss something? I created a Templar for the str/int, but I'm completely unaware of its special attributes. http://twitch.tv/carpola - Check me out!

There's not a huge amount of differences in the classes themselves at level 1 at the moment, most of the differences come from which passive skills you take - and each class has passives that they are more suited to - eg a marauder get more strength from red passives skills than a witch.
But here are the differences as they stand at the moment: " http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2750 So as a Templar, you're better off focusing on strength (red), and intelligence (blue) passive skills and skill gems. Last edited by Malice#2426 on Aug 15, 2011, 11:16:04 PM

Thanks. I appreciate the nice lengthy response. It seems we figured it out a little better when discussing it on my stream tonight. I just thought it might be easier to have some heads up at the character creation screen or somewhere before that.

In the next iteration of the passive skill tree we will have different starting points for each of the 6 character classes. This will help to further differentiate characters, as certain skills become much easier/harder to get depending on your class.

" good to hear. maybe add some more unique passives and more passives that effect skill gems? this will allow more than just 2-3 quality builds. |
