Reduced Mana Cost and Blood Magic

If I get a reduced mana cost skill tt will take less HP?


I believe so, since auras that reserve mana, will reserve HP after taking BM. The reduction seems to switch to your HP instead.

Yes, all the calculation of cost happens before Blood Magic says "and now pay it with life, not mana".

What about Soul Siphon and Mind Drinker with Blood Magic?

Would those regenerate and leech health instead of mana?

No. All blood magic does is mean that when you pay a skill's mana cost, you spend life, instead of spending mana.

Cost modifiers still apply, because nothing removes the mana cost from the skill - all that changes is that you'll end up paying that cost with life.

However, any effect that affects mana will still affect mana. Mana leech will leech mana until you reach your maximum mana - given that this is 0, this won't take any time at all.

So ive been lookin into marauders skill tree alot. And I've been looking into making a Blood Mage and i'm finding no answers on this topic. If you have blood magic would mana regen rate perks then apply to hp regen rate since u have no mana to use?

no, because you have no mana now, no mana mods will effect blood magic HP, or regen

the only exception to this is any -reduced mana cost mod effects HP cost on skills

Guys its not that complicated...if anything says the word "mana" then it applies to mana only, mana regen, mana gain on kill, ect (Besides the lower the "mana" cost on skill use, this will lower the health used because you now use health for skills). When you take blood magic it does not make your health pool your mana pool, your mana pool becomes "0" and you use life for skills "instead of" mana. On a further note if a skill, such as an aura, requires a reserve then that reserve with BM will be in your health pool...again because BM makes it so you use health instead of mana for skills.

If you want to make good use out of BM then take health regen nodes, get a large health pool, use life on hit and life leech...If you organize yourself correctly you will be able to spam just about any skill non stop with BM.
