Random instance lagging

Randomly when creating a new instance I will get severe lag for that particular instance. It happens inconsistently, seems to not be linked to a specific gateway, doesn't seem to go away for the instance whole lifetime(tried to wait for about 30min once), nothing I can do on my part seems to do anything.

I usually play on Amsterdam gateway with ~20ms, tried London, Paris and Frankfurt all with 20-30ms avg but I experienced that random instance lag on those gateways as well.

I'm not experiencing any other network troubles.

ISP is VOO in Belgium.

I haven't played in a while, came back to PoE for league start as usual so I can't say if it's really a new issue, but I didn't experience this problem in 3.8

Ran the WinMTR tool : https://pastebin.com/NNNiG69f

Is this a known issue? If yes, is there a fix?

Thanks

What OP describes seems to match what I am experiencing. Since the start of this league, I have also been getting strange latency issues at night (8-11 UTC). Roughly at 8 pm UTC, doing anything in game such as entering maps or even story areas is met with insane lag and high pings. I don't seem to get this issue in other games at the same time.

I ran WinMTR. Perhaps someone could suggest a solution.

I play from South Africa and typically connect to EU servers such as London or Amsterdam. I have had one evening so far where changing to Russian servers seemed to fix the problem, and changing back to Amsterdam gave same lag issues. Will need to see if it is a permanent solution though.

Bumping since issue is still present.
UPDATE : Following thread https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2508264 , I ran winMTR in a map where I didn't experience any lag, and in the vaal side area in that map where I was lagging really hard.

The two winMTR : https://pastebin.com/0rjRgTWt

I also followed the procedure to fix latency issues in tech support several times since last post, tried everything i could think of on my end and still the issue persist.

This is very frustrating, as maps are not resettable instances, whenever it happens it basically prevent me from running the map. When it happens to my hideout, I have no other choice than to log out and wait to let the instance time out and try again.

Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Thanks

for me it looks like you take 2 differants route to get to the 2 differant server that should be at same gateway, so could be something there that make some of the instances "bad" but I don't know why that should be.....
I can only confirm what the OP is saying.
I am having exactly the same issue since 3.5.

Ping is fine in both POE and Teamspeak and WinMTR looks clean.
After entering a new zone Teamspeak and other services don't change in latency or behavior. Only POE starts acting up and the internal netgraph changes from totally smooth to Spikes up to seconds.
WinMTR looks pretty much the same for me.

Since this only happens in POE and only for some instances it has to be a routing issue and a problem with POEs networking.

Currently having the least issues on London Gateway. At least it feels like it.

Btw I found a way to reset your Hideout once it lags. Just use Helena to switch to another hideout and switch back. If it happens in a map the map is lost. I lost many high tier and blighted maps to this issue.
