kitava & elemental resistances..

Hi!! My name's Matteo, and I game from different years. In these last week I've try to begin newly the story with another character (marauder), but after match with Kitava at act 5, I've found my resistances decreased. I should not begin the story with a new character again: is there a way to restore elemental resistances' cap??

Thank You very much for Your support.

Best regards.

Matteo

The resistance decrease is part of the story. You will get -30 resis after act 5 and another -30 after act 10. There is no way to get them back, you just have to put enough res on your gear to reach the res cap of 75 anyway. I.e you will need 135 all res on your gear, not just 75 to be maxed out. It's no big deal though, capping elemental resists is easy and chaos can be done as well though it's not mandatory.
What I found works well is to accumulate solid resist/life gear until act 5 and do an upgrade either right before or after Kitava. Then do the same thing around act 10 Kitava.

It's just easier to make a wholesale change where you can look at all the gear options, since stuff will be dropping all along the way.

Totally not necessary, just a little easier until you get really familiar with managing your gear stats on the fly.

Welcome back!

Losing resistances on 5th act is a game-design-error.

Instead of reducing resistances GGG had to increase elemental and chaos damage of the monsters.

Reducing resistances is unnatural.
Increasing damage is natural.

P.S.

Joke :)

.. Sincerely I sholud have hope to another difficulty game system based, however very thanks anyway for this game..
Well, it used to be just 2/3/4 acts that would repeat another two times and you would lose 30% resistance with each difficulty.

Due to the number of rare items with several resistances you get by that time and higher level resistance mods, I do not believe that there is much of a problem with it though. Either you can play well enough not to receive a lot of damage, or you just need to get a bit more resistance on your gear, and you will be fine.

I remember having resistances overcapped for maps in act 4 one time, and that was my first character in the league.
