Action Speed?

Decided to try Deadeye, I took Gathering Winds as my first ascendancy but all I am seeing with action speed is it's affect on movement speed. My attack speed and damage stays exactly the same. Wiki says attack speed should go up.
"Action speed, sometimes known as animation speed, refers to the overall speed at which an actor (a character or monster) performs actions, such as moving, attacking, casting, placing totems, throwing traps, or using mines" Is the Wiki wrong or am I just reading it wrong? Because it's really confusing. Wiki is right. As it says, think of it as animation speed. Your character still have the same speed value (movement/attack/cast/etc) but each second is made shorter. So, if you take 5 steps in "your" 1s, in RL 1s you would have taken more than 5 steps. In the end, you act faster overall but you still perform the same amount of actions inside "your time" and thus tooltip doesn't change while tailwind is active.

Lol this is spacey, are we talking about being in two dimensions? I’m still not seeing the picture. But overall is my damage better or the same even though my tooltip stays the same?

In sum, you deal more damage per second.

Think of it like this:
My character plays the game in 'normal' speed. Your character (with tailwind) plays the game in 'fast forward' speed. Even if everything else is the same between our characters, your does everything faster. Which means more attack speed, move speed, etc etc, even though the game doesnt say this on your character sheet. |
