how to tell if a support gem will work
There is a VERY easy way to tell if a support gem works on a skills gem. Look at the description on the skill gem, it should say things like "attack" "aoe" "cold". These will tell you if an support gem can be paired, and I have yet to see a support gem not go by this rule. Please, before you ask on gen chat if 2 gems pair, remember this.

Freezing Pulse: Cold, Projectile, Spell
Fork: Support, Projectile Chain: Support, Projectile, Chaining There's an example where the rule doesn't apply! Life is tough... but it is tougher if you're stupid.

Simply attach the support gem to the skill when it isn't shown on the skill icon it doesn't work.
Thats the easiest way. |

" It does apply though. FP will gain the ability to fork and chain - the reason it can never do either is completely separate from skill gem/support gem compatibility. (yes, I see your point, I'm just picky with mechanics' reference) Last edited by BearlyKoalafied123#1548 on Mar 12, 2013, 5:58:54 AM

" Derelith is right here. FP could theoretically chain and fork, BUT the game allows only either pirce or chain or fork at one time (projectiles could pierce one enemy and fork on the next, but never both on the same one) and since FP has a 100% chance to pierce (yes FP pierces the whole time) it never actually chains or forges.
