South African server!

There is a great PoE community building here in SA, but something that hinders us from playing here is the 300ms latency to euro server, and 400 odd to american. If at all possible a South African server would be amazing! :)

I am pretty sure that there will be a South African Server once its cost efficient to run one

please keep in mind that this game is in closed beta status and it might be a while before that happens...

only thing you can do is advertise this game to your South African Buddies

As long as you're not getting dc'd all the time I don't see a huge deal with a 300 ping. But an African server is a good idea, spread PoE to the world!

Even if Grinding Gear Games cant find it feasible to host a server in South Africa - atleast let South African ISP's host it. So all that is required is getting this game popular in SA and asking ISP's to host them.

Our ISPs would definitely be up for hosting a server, not sure how microtransactions would be handled though.

Ok I've been around PoE for a while now. I play both on my fixed ADSL line as well as Vodacom 3g. My ADSL line generally gets me a 180 ping and the 3g can vary between 300 and 1000 depending on the location I'm working, at the time.

When playing on the 3g (Mobile) connection I adjust my play style according to my connection.

My ONLY real gripe is the cost of bandwidth for the patches. I would love to see someone post the patches on a "Local" sever so that our "less fortunate" can use the cheaper bandwidth to download their games.

As far as the "Healthy" South African population is concerned, Where the hell are they? All my "South African" "Friends" are never frigging online :(

You can try over here. There was talk of a torrent download for the client, so GGG might be open to one of our ISPs mirroring the client/patches.
