you can take a look at my tree. I opted for might of the meek, free-ing up some SP, and took sovereignty below ZO. 90% reserved mana, about 120 remaining pool, 67 mana regen per s, running aspect, disc+enlighten3+malevolence, tempchain+blasphemy (w solstice). (sometimes I swap out my temp chain+blasphemy depending on the fights). you could slap on an aul's for malevolence and run hatred too.

I think currency is not an issue for you. There's a lot of dps in the right side of the tree for you to take, some optimization like taking the other/left route to get to fingers of frost instead.

you've allocated like 10 SP more than me in ES haha. I'm already sitting at 10.3k I have no idea how high is your ES. at some point if you find yourself having more than enough ES you could start allocating it to dps on the tree.


I am sitting at 14.4 ES atm with discipline up.
I did change the tree slightly and i have 127 mana free which atm is more than enough due to my boots having 0.6% of the dmg done leeched as mana.
Altho i will take a look at might of the meek, thanks for the info.

If I may suggest sth, I would recommend trying to incorporate intellingence into your gear. I see nobody is even mentioning this, but it's really useful.

On my example: with not so great gear I'm running at 16,2k ES plus I have 1469 mana, which leaves me a comfortable margin of unreserved (205 following usual build -> 146 after some optimization.)

You were (I think) saying that Elder will spawn at the tier of maps you are running. More accurate might be that he spawns at the highest tier in the elder influence area at the moment of spawning, which may not be the tier you are currently running. I was not clear but I was just trying to move elder influence to a t11 map for Zana's quest line. I wasn't actually trying to spawn elder. After watching a couple of videos, and running a bunch of maps, it turned out to be easier to get him to spawn at t10 than to get his influence to t11 for the quest.

Anyway, four guardians are down and I'm going to bed, so elder will have to wait until tomorrow.

EDIT: Noticed this morning that just taking out the elder guardians in yellow, with eldar himself on a 10 but not yet down, has caused his influence to spread into t11 and 12. Looks like getting to t11 for the Zana quests may require getting him spawned in yellow first. Can someone confirm this is true?


not sure if you've read my post on 154/153, check it out. I was going for the shapers orbs 11-15 quest + elder orb (for T16 upgrade). spawned the elder on a t10 map, traded 20chis and 5regs (vendor recipe) to retrieve my previous t10->t15 orb, used it on the t10 map that my elder spawned, and tada, my elder "spawned" on a red map. all guardians and elder dropped the fragments.

if you're talking about spawning uber elder, that's what damage incorporated is saying it's also pretty easy. in my post i also explained how i got it to spawn (with 4 elder maps influence)
Don't post much here but just wanted to let you know that I absolutely loved this build.
The initial ramp up to CI was a bit rougher than usual but after that absolutely demolishes everything for not too much investment.
Killed guardians and shaper deathless..and got my first ever uber elder kill in PoE with 1 death.

Well, wanted to try a new build, all I can say is that this build is like a paper compared with my Howa MS Jugg. It's strong dmg wise but cm on, currently I got 7k ES and I get rekt by random mobs while mapping... :(

Then you clearly don't have your resistances right.

This build is more than able to do endgame content.

2 leagues ago I was using jugg HOWA, that i leveled to similar level as this build (so around 96), so i can give you a comparison

With howa jugg I managed to get to 13,7k ES with around 100 ex gear and it really felt tanky (meaning I could facetank everything except for biggest shots - shaper's slam etc)

WIth this build I'm currently at 16,7k ES (around 20 ex invested -> planning t get to 18k ES), but I'm dying much often (sometimes dying within 0,1s). Stil, those deaths are only to exceptional cummulation of bad events / mindless play. If you learn them, what to avoid, it's rather safe to play

To make it compare in numbers:
Howa jug: +20-30% tankier/safier but with moderate/slowish clearing
Vortex: slightly less tankier, 2 x faster clearing speed, SMOOTH!!! (uncomparable smoothness in play due to insta cast).

If I were to choose again, I would go for vortex because of more fun to play and potential to eliminate it's drawbacks (not 100% survivability).

I want to use this build as a first time ssf hc player. I played a few leagues, and I know the basics. Did shaper in SSF SC this league. Now I want to try HC for the first time.
Do you think this build will make a save first time HC SSF build?

Just cleared uber elder with this:



So end-game content is more than doable with cheap/subpar gear. I spent 1 ex on the chest and 20c on a couple of dense fossils. Weapon was 40c. Everything else much cheaper. Obviously room to vastly improve my gear and dps (vortex DOT was about 280k) but also good enough to clear the uber fight. I'd never killed uber elder before (ever), so can definitely vouch for the quality of this build/guide.
