Purchasing points on Steam.
Hi!
Stash Sale looks tempting, and I'm wondering if there was a step by step guide how to purchase Points on Steam if you are using the standalone, and wish to continue using the standalone client? There are some threads about this, but some of the information seems outdated (currency must be in US dollars?) and others are so vague that I fear I might accidentally delete my characters or something. :P Alternatively, I could wait until the payment firm is replaced (and start another league with 4 stash stabs), or trust Xsolla with my debit card info (which seems scary). Hello,
It is only possible to use Steam payment methods if using the Steam client. It is possible to have your account configured to use both clients (mine is), however you would still need to go through the process of downloading and installing the Steam client just to log in to buy stuff. Thank you!
Yes, I think the trouble of downloading the client is probably worth it, comparing the alternatives? Your guide seems basically have all the information I need, I just want to make sure I do things in the right order. So, let's see if I understood it right: 1. Download Path of Exile Steam client. 2. Link it with https://www.pathofexile.com/my-account/steam 3. Add money to my Steam wallet. 4. Buy some stash tabs. 5. Write email to PoE support asking to unlink the Steam account and the PoE account. 6. Uninstall PoE from Steam and continue playing with the standalone, enjoying my new tabs. |

It's up to you whether you wish to contact Support about that. If you link your accounts you should be able to log into either client. If you ever have money in your Steam Wallet you'd like to spend on Path of Exile in future, it would save you the hassle of re-linking them.
Also, just to clarify in case it isn't clear: I notice in your post you mention buying stash tabs, then contacting Support. When you buy points through Steam, they'll be available on the standalone client (and vice versa). So you don't need to spend the points you've purchased before using the standalone client again - you can just log into the Steam client, buy a pack, then log out again and either leave it there or uninstall it; whichever you'd prefer to do. Personally I use the Steam client (automatic updates are nice), but to each their own. :) "VPs are not required to change their posting style.
