race typ: ironman pvp (just do it)

I've been watching the streamers do the 1 hour to 3 hour races this weekend - it seems fun.

So it takes me back to the iron man races, me and my friends were doing in Diablo 2 - the rules are simple. (this is the rule set in Diablo 2)



you level to 9, then pvp in a FFA battle - you can only pick up items, you cant mule other items into your character. (some characters are banned but meh.. :D )

What I've been thinking how to apply the rule set in Path of Exile - for leveling and racing for 1 hour is sure fun right?..

You get to race lets say 1, 2 , 3 hour races - then you get paired up with another player and you duel. The system type i was thinking was like an tournament mode.
The higher up you are the more points you earn. (disable hp pots in the pvp arena)
You could also run a group-iron man contest. Just have 3 v 3 or higher numbers.

Sure, leveling fast and all that is really fun to watch other players do these crazy man-mode builds.


But where is the excitement? just do it.

It would be cool if they could have a 1 week race that had a pvp event at the end. At a specific period of time PVP would start and you would automatically be teleported to the pvp arena. if you weren't logged in at the time or logged out after pvp battles started, your character would be concidered dead. PVP rounds would continue until there was only 1 person left.

Actually i had a similar idea to fix the Problem of no interaction: when you enter a new area in a race there would be a Chance of joining an other players map who is 1 Level higher/lower or the Same level. Ofcourse you would loose a lot of exp because the other Player already cleared alot of mobs but you would gain a lot exp by killing him. Thats just the rough idea and sure does need a lot of tweaks.

They really should look into this idea for the pvp season it blends pvp and races together. I remember playing this mode on diablo 2 as well it was extreamly fun
