Which weapon for my build?

Hey guys!

I'm new on PoE and I was planning to play my brand new Duelist as a pure melee character.

But I don't know which kind of weapon does match with the build I thought about.

Here is the two-handed version, and here the one-handed one.

Can you guys tell me if this build will work well? I will of course add some health points, health regen (maybe Blood Drinker for some extra leeching), more elemental resist and/or armor, and of course some physical damage/attack speed skills.

Does this build match better with one or two handed weapons? And then which type?

Last question: is Diamond Skin a stackable skill, does it worth to pick it two times?

Yes can stack Diamond skin - worth doing if its not too far out the way.

Assuming you're going hybrid gear (evasion & armour), i'd pick up the leather & steel 3 nodes at the start, same with the armour nodes there, just as they are on your doorstep and not out the way. I personally like the combination of armour with evasion, so didn't take iron reflexes, but I might play around with it a bit later on.

I suppose it depends what you're looking to do with the character. The 2h will give you more damage for sure, and you can focus on drains/LoH to survive. The shield spec will do less damage, but give you big bonuses to damage reduction. I think block chance is potentially the best overall physical damage mitigation.

Play around with an ~80 point build. That will take you towards end of merciless. Gives you a good idea of where you need to build to.



This is me, at 54. With a shield/tank type thing going on.
My only issue is fairly low damage. Single target dps is ~450. My DW claw shadow as the same level was ~1800. Survival however is way better.
