PLEASE READ: Forum/Beta Invite News

Hi guys,

a) We've made a "Beta Invite Discussion" forum and moved a lot of threads over there. We're going to try hard to get the "General Discussion" back into this forum. Because of that, we're encouraging Beta testers to post their impressions, and are going to post new information in the next few days that you may enjoy discussing.

b) We're appointing some moderators to help remove spammy posts. People seem to think that posting junk posts all over the place increases their chance of getting into beta. It just increases your chances of getting put on probation.

c) We've banned some people for inappropriate behaviour on the forums. Don't post porn or make up fake keys, etc. We'll try to get some rules up soon so that this is all clearer.

d) We're going to change how the timer works to address your concerns to some degree. This should be deployed within a day.

e) Please note that in addition to the changes so far to the timer, we've also been handpicking dozens of users for access. Old timers are definitely getting added at a decent rate, just not via the current timer. This will of course improve with the changes mentioned above.

f) Please stop sending me PMs begging for keys. You have no idea how many I receive. This is completely ridiculous!

g) Please don't be disappointed if you don't personally receive a key quickly. We want to let everyone in, but we're following a careful plan of scaling up our servers over the next few months. There is still plenty of content to be added to the game (as the current testers can attest to, despite their awesomely positive posts). When you do join, it'll be even better than it is now.

h) Beta is going very well! The testers seem to be having a great time and are giving us lots of great feedback. We look forward to seeing you in game.

EDIT: A second timer has now been added. It invites "Veterans", who are older forum members with more posts before beta began. The interval will be changed so that two people are invited per 30 minutes (rather than one per 15 minutes).

Realistically though you COULD let everyone in... simply set up a new server and only use it for downloading/patching the client. Of course, this would cost you money, so that probably isn't an acceptable option anyways.

We would probably need around 50 more servers to let everyone in right now.
