Doomfletch's Prism + avatar of fire 100% conversion
|
So I am pretty sure I figured out how to convert 100% phys/cold/lightning to fire with Doomfletch's Prism using avatar of fire, call of the brotherhood,cold to fire support and lightning arrow/blast rain, but I am not sure if it is beneficial to do so.
Will bonus elemental damage apply to all 3 damage types before conversion like it would without AoF, or will it only apply once to the fire damage after conversion? Thanks :) Last bumped on Feb 5, 2017, 1:07:52 AM

Avatar of Fire changes nothing about how bonuses scale. All elemental bonuses will continue to "only apply once," with or without any conversion. The way scaling with conversion works is that "if it ever was a type/category, bonuses to that type/category can apply."
"Added Damage" works the same way. Example: 50% increased elemental damage 50% increased fire damage 100 base physical damage -> no conversion -> phys-fire: 110 * (1 + 0.5 + 0.5) = 220 fire damage phys-cold: 110 * (1 + 0.5) = 165 cold damage phys-lightning: 110 * (1 + 0.5) = 165 lightning damage Total: 100 phys + 220 fire + 165 cold + 165 light = 650 hit damage -> Avatar of Fire, Call of the Brotherhood's conversion, Cold to Fire's conversion, Lightning Arrow's conversion -> just the phys: phys-fire: 50 * (1 + 0.5 + 0.5) = 100 fire phys-lightning-fire: 25 * (1 + 0.5 + 0.5) = 50 fire phys-lightning-cold-fire: 25 * (1 + 0.5 + 0.5) = 50 fire added damage: phys-fire: 110 * (1 + 0.5 + 0.5) = 220 fire phys-cold-fire: 110 * (1 + 0.5 + 0.5) = 220 fire phys-lightning-fire: 55 * (1 + 0.5 + 0.5) = 110 fire phys-lightning-cold-fire: 55 * (1 + 0.5 + 0.5) = 110 fire Total: 100 + 50 + 50 + 220 + 220 + 110 + 110 = 860 hit damage Notice that since the example contained only elemental and fire increased damage, you could have calculated it shorthand much quicker: 430 base damage 430 * (1 + 0.5 + 0.5) = 860 hit damage But if you had increased physical, cold, or lightning damage, you would need some or all of the subcategories in the 2nd example above, or do ratio analysis (also called "damage mix" by some posters around here).
