Forum topic notifications is buggy?

I got a notification (yellow text) but the topic that had new content (recent bug report regarding DirectX 11 and fullscreen) wasn't listed in my Private Messages. Also when I get a notification the notification is often not the top message on the 1st page of my Private Messages.

Just now it said I had 2 New Messages in yellow font but no matter what I did I couldn't find either message in my Inbox!

I just discovered that if I filter my Inbox to only show unread messages the notifications become visible for me to click. So there is a work around for this issue to use while waiting for the issue to be fixed.
