Translations to your native language
So i made this thread to suggest translating this game into as many languages as possible. Of course, this doesn't mean that dev's must do all the translations. What i had in mind is that dev's recruit players to do the translations. Translations should be done by the people, who's first language is same as the needed translation(or by the person who has sufficent proficiency in given language).
Also, i would like to know who's willing to do the translations and assemble teams if it's possible. To join the translation, submit your Name/username(withever you prefer), language(there can be more than one) of translation that you wish to take part of. And if the translation is not in your native language, you should add how much expirience you have with given language. Example: Name/Username: Language: I hope GGG dev's see this as a good idea, and if there is sufficent number of translators for any language, they would recruit some people to do translations(free ofcourse :) ) And to get thing started... Name/Username:Hannes091 Language: Estonian PS: This isn't an official translation recruiting thread, but to see how many people would be willing to join the translation teams. I am extremely glad you brought this up because I was actually thinking of offering my translation services to GGG for some time now.
I have been looking at certain item names, menus and dialogs and am confident I have adequate knowledge to do the translation from English to Croatian, as I am studying aforementioned languages at university, and will get my degree soon enough. I think that syntactical and lexical structure of my posts confirm this (with some writing and stilistical mistakes, as the main object here is to get my message across). Of course, I am aware that Croatian market isn't large, and therefore less profitable, but would be very dedicated to completing such task, if GGG would be willing to do this. I believe that in spite of this, many players would be interested in seeing such translation, and would in no way harm the game, quite contrary, help it grow even more. There is also a case of grapheme availability (which I mentioned in one of the posts), as the Croatian language contains some which are unfamiliar to the English readers, which might cause some gameplay issues (look at the post for details). Anyhow, I will be exploring more thouroughly the language of PoE, and familiarizing myself with the content, so I could make an educated guess about the difficulty level of translation, and will be contacting GGG regarding it soon thereafter, if I still feel confident enough about doing it. |

As I said in my post, I will be glad to do it in FRENCH.

I already translated some stuff (basically skills and area names from the first act) for the german part of the 'pathofexilewiki' some time ago, and I always had the intention to offer some feedback/co-work to the developers when its time to start the localisations.

I strongly disagree with this idea, or indifferent to it depeneding on availibality of ther vesions. I'm russian myself, but english and russian are too different in tems of lexic to provide a good localizations, literally thousands of localizations prove my point of view.
Spoiler
Can i have a betakey for my 2 cents?

I know, there was a conversation about this in another thread some days ago (where in summary, a guy demanded english to be the 'only' language used in the world) ^^
But GGG itself announced some localisations for the most frequent languages (in the game) planned to come later... and, even if I know that will be not an easy one-by-word thing to translate, I'm sure its possible to transform (most of) the wordplay into other languages with some effort (surely needs more than one head per language, and may greatly eased if its not necessary to grab all the texts direct from the game) invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

I was just thinking exactly about this and I'm glad I tried to search first instead of creating a new post.
I'd like to translate: Name/Username: draconis Language: Czech (native) I've got some experience with translations - I partcipated in Mozilla products and its addons locales and also a few other software products. I must say this is always interesting but it requires at least two things: 1. Support from developers - it's totally unwanted if the translator has to look for the strings directly in code. The best way is if there's a locale file containing only text strings to translate and nothing else. This also provides slightly more possible translations because it's easier and will bring more people being involved into the translation. 2. Experienced and responsible QA for each translation - it's still the same game but wrong translation can make a shameful experience. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. Badly done translation is enjoyment-killer and of course the game developers cannot be responsible for the translation if it's not a result of "official" effort but is made by someone not being part of GGG. Well there are many things to talk about but IMHO this has to be done together with developers - otherwise it's pointless I guess. Hannes091, you've got my support and I would fight for as many translations as possible. And for some user-friendly translation system also. If there's any chance to success. Replies and discussion are welcome! Ever wonder if illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup?

BTW this has been already discussed in this thread so I'd recommend to eventually post there.
