Laptop uses wrong video card

Hey there!

Im playing PoE on a Laptop with 2 video Cards: Nvidia Geforce 650m and Intel Graphics 2000.
But when playing PoE my Laptop is able to use the Intel card leading to massive performance issues.
I have the Nvidia card as my standard and i even set it as the Card to use for PoE. I also have the latest Drivers(using Nvidia GeForce Experience).
I hope you can help me out!

Did you try to edit the txt doc , and see if is set there " ?

Do you have the nvidia setting set right ?

Try to open the nvidia control center and check wich setting is set ( probably is set to " automatic " wich may select your integrated intel graphic card.

You can find the POE txt file in C:\Users\[Your Name]\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile - name of file is "production_Config.cfg" ( try to open this with notepad ) . Search for this line " adapter_name= "

Should look like this :
[DISPLAY]
adapter_name=NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

Note3: Feel free to contact me ingame if you want more help, i will gladly help you .

Thanks for the quick reply!
Video Card is set on NVIDIA GeForce GT 650 in the global aswell as in the settings just for PoE in the nvidia control center.
adapter_name in the production_config says Intel Graphics. Changing it to Nvidia didn't help.
Might the problem come from the fact that i use a 2nd monitor?
Because i saw a setting specifiacally for multi-Displays.
Mine is currently set to Multi-display-performance-mode.

Hello again. Are you using steam ? and launching the game from steam ? if so ignore the following step since you don't have credentials to log in with.
* Go to your POE folder , and right click the PathOfExile.exe icon , and click "Run with : Nvidia high performance ( something like this ) . And now check to see if it works.
** Second thing you could do is : right click on desktop -> NVIDIA Control Panel -> "Manage 3D Settings" -> "Use High-Performance NVIDIA Processor" -> Apply .
Here is a picture
Spoiler
(uploaded on picasa web albums , cuz is fast and easy for me )
** And i don't have 2 graphic cards, so the option does not show , but i marked the place where it should be .

*** Note : your 2 monitors have nothing to do with it , when game starts it should switch to what is selected , regardless of the one used at the moment. This problem is cause usually by the fact that the laptop uses the 2 cards to manage heat better , so it uses integrated on desktop ,and it SHOULD change to Nvidia when playing games , but if the temperature is too high it won't . Hopefully is the settings , and just so you know this will put a bigger stress on your machine , to use the Nvidia on both the display and game usage.

If that works , and the game shows the right graphic driver , and you don't want to stress your laptop too much do the following :

**** Same tab as earlier , but this time you click "Program Settings" -> Find PathOfExile.exe in the list ( if it does not show use the browse button and find it manually) -> Do the same as earlie ( select instead of "Auto" - " High Performance NVIDIA Processor. )

Good luck, and sorry it took me this much .
I am using Steam so i can't directly launch it with my Nvidia card, but i already did both of the other steps(auto > high performance nvidia in global and PoE settings).
Anything else i could do?
Didn't work with either of this ?
nope :(

Give me a screenshot with the in-game selection of the card.
How about you disable the intel on board vid card through the bios? WHy is no one thinking this? If its disabled even poe shouldn't be able to use that?

Disabling The Intel Graphics in Bios is a bad idea.
I did it once and my whole windows interface was buggy as hell and i couldn't run games anymore at all!
