What level do you need to be for Kaom's Dream / Daresso's Dream?

There's 2 of us lvl 42 in a party and we cannot go past some fire totems in Kaom's Dream and a massive arena in Daresso's Dream.

Both of us die instantly as we go in to either of the above.

As we cannot progress in quests maybe going back and levelling up some more is a good idea?

Don't bother with torchoak totems, they're way overtuned in every difficulty, just run post them.

You probably meant Barkhul's arena? You should have good AoE skills for that or focus on taking out Barkhul really fast, as long as he's alive enemies will keep spawning.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

if you mean the unique totem in kaoms dream (orange name tag) then just run past and ignore it because it is horrible tuned and does way too much damage. you don't have to kill it to get to kaom arena and finish that questpart.

for the massive arena in daressos path (the one before the waypoint which has closing gates once you enter) with the unique mob inside and many waves of mobs spawning you need good aoe clear and some luck because you can spawn a lot of blue waves or just white ones so if you are unlucky and get many blue waves you could restart the instance and hope to get more white waves this time.
what i always do is try to kill the unique mob fast that makes the fight much easier.

if you mean the arena with the threee unique mobs after the waypoint you can just run past and ignore them (like the unique totem in kaoms area) and dont have to engage with them.

generally for defences in kaoms path you want maxed fire resistance (ruby flask makes it safe) and for daresso good physical mitigation and cold res (granite flasks is great)

good luck you two in your adventures in wraeclast!
It is not a bad idea to bring a decoy totem to the Barkhul fight and use it liberally while you take out Barkhul himself. He is not very hard to beat if you can keep the adds off your back. Once he is down it is easy to clean up the riffraff.

I skip Torchoak pretty much every time. Although I tried again for the first time in a long time on cruel leveling my Ball lightning Scion. Funny that the strategy that worked was to run in circles around the totems dropping arc totems along the way. It is a major pain that he re-summons the subordinate totems. Basically run past is the best advice. The risk reward is not worth it unless you are in it for the ego. Torchoak:

1. Too much damage too fast and spammy.
2. Takes too long to kill.
3. Not great drops to justify the battle.

totems:
If you dont know how to deal with them:

IMO totems are almost OK and we need more hard bosses.

Daresso: If you get killed by pack of mobs in Daresso's Dream then you need to farm dried lake a bit, get better gear, get better life flasks.
