[2.0.3] Crit Hybrid Cascade Totem

If you need Chinese version, click below. I like Glacial Cascade so much but I can't find a good way to use it before The Awakening. Now with buffed Spell Toetem, I tried a new way to cast it. The result is not bad, even more powerful than I planned. This build contains some idea of Trap. I'm a crazy trap user before The Awakening, so I added some properties of trap into this totem build. Let's start!
Mechanism
1. Use powerful new item mods, added x-y damage to SPELL. The mods help your skill grant additional base damage without using a socket! Extremely important for this build!! 2. Use buffed Spell Totem, decreases the damage punishment by leveling gem up. A spell totem at L20 have less 31% damage and less 30% cast speed. That means, A spell totem at L20 deals 69% of original damage with 70% of original cast speed. 0.69 * 0.7 = 0.483 I get two totems, so 0.483 * 2 = 0.966 Two totems will deal almost the same damage (1.0) compare with self-casting. Totem don't need Life Leech, Spell Echo. By using totem, I can have more choice with my 6L. 3. Glacial Cascade deals 35% physical damage, 65% cold damage. So it will be a little bit hard to enhance your GC with passives, increased cold damage only get 65% effect, there are too few increased spell damage in passives. But there will be no problem with this build. Because we can use Totem Damage and Spell Damage to enhance our GC. 4. The increased damage will be still too low with these passives. And the solution in The Awakening is
This Jewel
I'm currently using 5 magic items, that will be 125% increased damage. 5. Without critical strike, DPS will be not enough to clear high level maps. And crit is the best way to pull up the damage of GC, since critical damage don't have any restriction of what kind of damage I use. This suits well with hybrid damage! We can get tons of crit passives near witch and shadow. The Awakening added a important passive for this build, Shaman's Dominion. Gain 100% increased global Critical Strike Chance for 4 seconds when you Summon a Totem. This suits the build so well! In hard maps, boss kill your totems in 4 seconds. You really don't need totem duration. Also, in reflect maps, totems kill themselves in 4 seconds. 4 seconds is really enough for this build. 6. I tried 2 totem builds at Warbands started. I allocated many totem life and resistance, but the totem still vanishes instantly in reflect maps. Or totems just get sec-killed by some ridiculous boss damage. Totems are like retarded when they are on chill ground. So I tired to give up ALL totem defence passives, and this build is born. Use totems as traps, my single shot damage is high. I wish you can cast GC one time before you die, if you can cast more, that will be good. This idea works well, but it generates another probelm - mana usage. But this mana problem also solved quickly. Will explain later. 7. Another great change of The Awakening! EB makes ES protect mana. With passives near shadow, life and ES, it will be enough for me to cast totems. And the ES regen speed just too fast than I imagined! I don't need to allocate any mana regen or ES regen speed, because totems don't placement frequently. I have much time to regen ES while totems are fighting. 8. I don't need mana anymore, so I can have 100% mana reserved without problem. I don't need any aura passives, that just waste my points! I use these a. Herald of Thunder - makes your base damage increased, your GC get shock ability! b. Herald of Ice - makes your base damage increased, your GC get more chance to freeze high life enemy! c. Arctic Armour - a great defence skill, since I don't have any armour gears or passives. This will safe your life in many accident, trust me. d. Herald of Ash - makes your base damage increased a little a littel a little bit. But, HoA plays a great role in this build. Let me explain. You can encounter many stronge boss with high life and a fast regen ES. When your totems are killed, these boss regen their ES in few seconds. That will make you hard to kill some hard boss, because you are hard to hurt their life. But with HoA, this build is a high crit chance build, we can ignite the boss for a while. Although the damage is ridiculous low, it's enough to prevent boss regen ES! This is the key to kill some boss like this. 9. Use Mind Over Matter, it saved me many times in high level maps.

Magic
Need T1 Life with T1 or T2 resistance.
Rare
Daggers offer great added damage and crit chance. Amulet offer great str and dex, makes me don't need allocate any +30 attribute passive. Boots offer great movement speed, life, resistance and good attribute. That's why these part are rare, magic item can not offer so many abilities.
Flasks
By the way, don't forget the put a Purity of Element in your second weapon solt. It will be hard to get tri-res over 100%+ due to you use many magic items. You'll need this aura when you face Elemental Weakness map mod.

6L Spell Totem - Glacial Cascade - Faster Casting - Increased Area Effect - Increased Critical Damage - Hypothermia IAE makes your totems attack really far. Never use Concentrated Effect, that makes your GC hard to hurt some fast-move or far-attack-range enemies. Hypothermia gives you free extra damage since your crit chance is high. You always freeze or chill enemies. 4L Cast When Damage Taken(L1) - Immoral Call(L1) - Increased Duration(High Level) - HoI(High Level) I need only 3L actually, the rest spot just put aura on it. 4L Summon Ice Golem - GMP - Blind - Flee This crappy dude offers you crit chance, and makes enemies mad with annoying blind and flee abilities. 4L Vengeance - Knock Back - Blind - Flee There are too many accident in PoE as you know. This will help you survive in some strange situations. 3L HoA - HoT - AA Just put some auras. 3L Vaal Clarity - Flame Dash - Assasin's Mark Moving skill and curse. Vaal Clarity helps you fight with some crappy situation, like you are surrounded by tons of jerks. You received great damage, your ES is all gone. This skill will help you a lot.

Leveling Progress
Use the shortest path to get two totems, put GC on it. After allocate two totems, get all increased area radius passives. If you got only 4L, the link will be Spell Totem - GC - Increased Area Effect - Faster Casting If you get a Tabula Rasa, it will help you conquer low level area. The 6L when leveling will be Spell Totem - GC - Increased Area Effect - Faster Casting - Added Lightning Damage - Added Chaos Damage Don't use any crit gems until you've allocated half of the crit passives! Before you get a 400+ ES 6L chest, do not use HoA,HoI,HoT in maps. Only use AA, makes you surrvive, and you'll have no problem with mana when you reserve only 25% mana. Allocate MoM after level 75. After get a 400+ ES 6L chest, allcoate EB, turn all 4 auras on, feel the power. It's not hard to buy a 400+ 6L ES chest without any resistance. Treat the ES chest as a Tabula grants you 400+ ES!
Jewels
I get three sockets, one must be the unique. The others are using cast speed with critical multiplier jewewls. Spell damage, area damage are also available. But critical multiplier gives me the most DPS buff.
Map Mods Solutions
Reflect - just replace totem many times, just makes you cost ES more. Blood Magic - cancel all aura, no problem doing BM maps. My character gets 4300+ life and always bring 4 life flasks when mapping. Temporal Chain - hard to do this, will be super dangerous when encounter fast moving enemies. If don't fight with hard boss, still can do. No Life and Mana Regen - almost no problem, my life regen so low and I have no mana. ES still keeps charging. Slower ES regen - just don't run too fast, still can do. Elemental Weakness - cancel two aura, Purity of Element on, solved. This build deals hybrid damage, map increases some element or physical resistance won't affect me that much. It's one of the best advantage of hybrid damage builds. I'm still leveling this character.
