[Item filter] transparency

Hi,

I really like the item filter GGG implemented. The script works great, but I'm missing one feature:

the transparency/opacity of a color value.

Advantages:

- More customization!
- Polished looks, slightly more vision
- 100% opaque colors are somewhat ugly
- "SetBackgroundColor" would look a lot better!
- Ability to "fade" less interesting items a bit
- Likely very very easy to implement

I'm not actually in beta, so I can't test out my own script ( http://pastebin.com/Af00CbhA , http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1246208 ), so my feedback is based upon streams and a few friends, but I think this simple implementation would provide a lot of advantages.

Implementation suggestion:

Instead of using the following syntax:

SetBackgroundColor 255 255 255

Use

SetBackgroundColor 255 255 255 0

The last number would be optional and represent opacity (0=transparent, 255=opaque, default value being 255).
Please don't PM me ingame with filter/guide questions, post them on the forum, after reading the FAQ.

Adding my +1 to feature request!
Yeah, this seems like the only thing the filter scripts are truly lacking. +1.
+1, wonder why they didnt think of this. some sort of technical difficulty in implementation? or a massive performance penalty?

If performance was a concern, it should not ultimately be a hindrance.
If it was implemented the way Y0UR was suggesting (with a fourth, optional parameter that has full opacity as standard value), every performance hit would be up to the individual user.
Crit happens.
+1 this would be perfect
"Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true."
Nice utility, will bump for those who may be interested. +1.
+1 please make this happen
Some things are so powerful that one glance burns them into your mind forever!
Come let us gaze on nothingness.
The problem is it would add a lot of overdraw, which can kill your gpu fillrate.

When two witches watch two watches, which witch watches which watch?
If the witches watching watches watch the same watch while you watch which witch watches which watch, they switch watches; then, the watch switching witches watch which watch you watch.
Watching witches watch watches is not for the faint of heart...
