1. Introduction

Inspirated by Moldran's videos [1] [2] I found after listening to the first one at raizQT's stream, I decided to finally start a project I dreamed soo long time ago. Put Kripparrian's old Sweep CI build back to life.

We all know nl_kripp ripped to softcore real life, and is now casual_kripp that plays Hearthstone, all that after falling into succubus' spells, despite that he still needs a proprer tribute to honor his past. Then I present you his build ressurrected, rebranded as No Life Kripp Lives.

The build is centered in Sweep skill gem, we grab all area nodes from passive tree, some melee damage and attack speed and we have a powerful attack with reasonable clean speed.

  • 203% increased maximum energy shield
  • 15% more maximum energy shield
  • 100% increased armour
  • 334% increased melee damage
  • 20% increased area damage
  • 54% increased attack speed
  • 56% increased radius of area skills
  • Hits that stun enemies have Culling Strike
  • Resolute Technique
  • Unwavering Stance
  • Vaal Pact
  • Chaos Innoculation
  • Ghost Reaver

4. Skill Gems

-> Gem setup exemple <-

Spoiler
  • RRRBRGR Sweep - Melee Physical Damage - Melee Damage on Full Life - Increased Area of Effect - Multistrike - Faster Attacks - Added Fire Damage
  • RRRRG Heavy Strike - Melee Physical Damage - Melee Damage on Full Life - Multistrike - Faster Attacks
  • RGBR Leap Slam - Faster Attacks - Curse on Hit - Warlord's Mark
  • RRR/B Herald of Ash - Reduced Mana - Determination/Discipline
  • RRRR CoDT(7) - Endurying Cry(9) - Immortal Call(8) - Increased Duration
  • G Blood Rage(10)
  • B Vaal Discipline
  • R Vengeance

Despite Multistrike giving better DPS then both Faster Attacks and Added Fire Damage, it does keep you stuck in place longer, so advise against it's use, you knockback more also so it's not that bad.

We can't afford to run more then one aura, so you have to make a choice between Determination and Discipline, they are both good and I have no conclusive data to backup the choice of one above the other, it depends on your gear also.

Blood Rage gem level is limited by the Dexterity you have on gear, I don't think it worth to grab Dexterity to go higher then 109 (Faster Attacks level 20), but if you do you should level it up more.

Vengeance is really lackluster, so I advise against it, don't try to fit it in your gem setup, use it only if you have a spare red socket.

5. Gear
Spoiler
Weapon
Spoiler
Sweep (and Leap Slam) has a fixed swing/attack time (1.15 seconds), attack speed can lower it, but weapon base "attacks per second" has no influence. That way the best weapon we can get is the highest flat damage one, regardless it's base attack time, attack speed mod is valuable though, since it does affect Sweep. A good two-handed mace will do the job, a rare Karui Maul better, the Marohi Erqi is amazing though, since it has an insane amount of damage, his built in Increased Area of Effect gives us an free gem slot, and the lower base attack per second is ignored (has a -10% reduced attack speed mod though). Marohi Erqi can only be beaten by a really endgame Karui Maul.

Armour
Spoiler
We need some armour is need to deal with reflect (and also to mitigate lower hits, since we don't get that big ES pool), and we need energy shield for obvious reasons. Also, nearby every gem we use is red, unless you has the wealth to off-chrome every piece of gear you will need hybrid Arm/ES gear anyway. You should prioritize: Resistances -> Energy Shield -> Armour -> Intelligence. Attack speed and flat physical are good bonuses on gloves, and movement speed on boots is really good also.

Jewellery and Belt
Spoiler
We need Dream Fragments, we will die easily by getting frozen and since we are CI based we get frozen easily. Make sure you grab enough Dexterity to run your Faster Attacks gems. And more of the same, at least 1% mana leech -> Life leech -> Resistances -> Energy Shield -> Armour -> Intelligence. Rustic Stash is the best belt, a Chain Belt isn't that bad either, increased Flask effect duration is huge.

Flasks
Spoiler
Since we don't use life flasks, Granites will help a lot, 2 Granites of Iron Skin for maximum uptime, good against reflect also, and stack with Determination. A Topaz and a Ruby flasks cover some of the most dangereous spells in the game and help to avoid some burning and shocking, have one of the of Staunching and the other of Warding will cover both bleed and curses. The last one can be either a Quicksilver of Adrenaline or Grounding or an Atziri's Promise that do help a lot with reflect and boost damage by a great margin.

6. Leveling
Spoiler
You can use Molten Strike or Heavy Strike for single target, and Leap Slam, Ground Slam or Sweep while leveling. That is, you can level up with the skills you will use at higher level or not, it's up to you, make sure you level up the needed skills at secondary weapon slot nevertheless. A high damage 2 handed mace is the weapon of choice, you can use an axe also at lower levels. Make sure to grab some life nodes, despite going Chaos Inoculation, we need life (and life gear) until we grab the Keystone and have good enough CI gear, you can respec out of it later. You can go for CI somewhere around level 60.

7. Discussion and Disclamer
Spoiler
Differences from Kripparrian original concept. Kripp could afford to go with CI without any ES nodes at all because CI was overpowered, we don't have this choice nowadays, gladly we can go through the passive tree in a more effective fashion, so it's not that big of a problem. We also grab insane amout of increased area of effect nodes, which is new, reaching 84% increased area of effect Sweep (with level 15 increased area of effect gem), Sweep base radius is 20, so neaby 37 is reached, raising the clearing speed by a great margin. We can't stack auras, even investing a lot of passive points wouldn't solve it and would create mana problems, so we can run just one and just one herald, Herald of Ash is a big addition, sinergize greatly with all the area of effect nodes investiment, and then we opt for either Determination or Discipline. That makes Iron Reflexes a easy cut, since we can't run Grace anyway, we also cut Inner Force, that wount make that big of a difference. Phase Run was removed from the game. Vaal Discipline, Cast when Damage Taken and Curse on Hit are added.

Since Sweep attack time is fixed (1.15 seconds, modified by all attack speed, weapon mod included), the better weapon we can use is a high damage one, disconsidering it's innate base attack time (bonus attack speed still worth a lot).

Possible nodes at passive tree. Alchemist - Unyielding - Fending - Melding - Berserking - Exceptional Performance - Potency of Will - Other energy shield nodes.

Handling Physical Reflect. We have: some armor; Granite Flasks; CwDT + Immortal Call setup; Vaal Pact; life steal from Blood Rage, Warlord's Mark, gear, Atziri's Promise. Insane life steal and Granite Flask uptime is needed, so make sure you have Blood Rage always on, you are Cursing everything through Leap Slam and you have your Granite Flask up.

Fairgraves' Tricorne Tricorne and Shock. You got shocked really all the time, that's one of the reasons for running a core Topaz Flask, you also pot before incoming lightning damage, to avoid getting shocked as much as you can. You can't afford to drop the helmet slot since it's the second highest source from energy shield, so sadly, unless you want to risk running with a really low ES pool, you have to deal with shocking with smart play, good flask management and good positioning.

Vengeance is bad, not reliable at all at high internal cooldown, if you get a spare read slot for it it will do no harm, but don't worth a dedicated 4L. I actually tested it. Good for leveling though.
