Does faster casting actually affect Herald of Thunder's lightning storm?

According to the wiki it should, but I've been alternating between slotting in my 45% gem and leaving it bare, and can't seem to find any difference in how fast the bolts hit. Any thoughts?

does it actually add mana multiplier to HoT? does it actually apply the faster casting icon to HoT in your hotbar? (blue C if im correct, not sure and too lazy to look it up)

if so, it works
if not, it doesn't

Not entirely true.

The action of "turning the buff on" involves your cast speed (the gem has the "Cast" tag, to make that extra clear). You could be wasting a ton of mana reservation and a support slot just to be able to turn the buff on faster.

To the OP: I actually don't know. The wiki claims it does, but I've never tested myself nor seen a GGG post about it. Would love to get that knowledge.
hmm ya good point. that is pretty lame though, lol
I've experimented with it extensively, and faster casting does not make the bolts strike any more frequently. If you're a lightning spec char, you can get your bolts to add quite a bit of dps by linking it to lightning pen, however.
Yeah that's what I ended up doing. I was hoping I could get more damage and freezes (3 dragons build) at the same time, but I'll just have to settle for more damage.

Confirmed it does not, and the wiki has been updated.
Yep, I've updated the wiki. Let me know if the description on there isn't clear enough.
