It may take a little while to go through, but I've reduced the timer interval to 5 minutes (it was 25 minutes before). There may be further changes up or down in the near future as we balance load on the 0.9.3 beta servers.
I will be sending out a lot (thousands) of friend invites in the near future also, once we know the servers are stable.

The timer is still starting at 25 mins in my browser.

Good to hear, but is the current timer issue (as seen as the first post on http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/11633/page/2) going to be carried over to it? I hope not and that gets fixed. It shows the timer fluctuating within a +/- 30sec span on page refreshes making it inconsistent at the moment.
I'd assume this is related to current downtime and the upcoming changes in preparation for the 5minute timer and 0.9.3 though.

This is on purpose to prevent everyone's browsers hitting our servers at the same time. It doesn't affect the outcome.

Hmmm, the wait for many may be coming to an end soon.

Ah OK, that is a rather interesting way of dealing with it. Thanks for the clarification.

Hooray, now I may actually have a minute chance to get in instead of an extremely minute chance! With all the friend keys maybe someone will even be nice enough to toss me one. ::)
