Performance Issues

What part of "unplayable" can't you grasp? Right now I am pretty much done trying to play this game. Tired of getting dc'd going through gates, dying to desynch, rubberbanding, lagging, etc. I love the game but it's UNPLAYABLE for me. Adjust my mindest???? WTF? After reading from a Dev that this isn't a priority all I can say is buying microtransactions has ceased to be a priority for me until I can at least play Act III without a crash every five minutes. Weird how this stuff only gets worse with each patch they put out. GGG is screwing the pooch. And the fact that there are no further character wipes just means that those with the absolute top end gear are gettiing further and further ahead of guys like me who are basically stymied and CAN'T PLAY regardless of our "mindset". And that blows the whole "its still beta" argument to pieces doesn't it now? Is expecting to be able to play the game in order to want to support it really "unreasonable"?

I understand. Unplayable. IE: you cannot play it currently. I get that. The game is like that for a lot of people. I'm sorry about that, but *shrug* that's how things are. My point is that if it is indeed unplayable right now, then why not come back when they make changes you think that will make it more playable?

The other option is that if it is unplayable now, you could spend a ton of money attempting to rebuild machines to get it playable... upgrading your internet connection to a gigabit fiber line, etc... obviously that's not reasonable... but it proves my point. The jist of my whole point was to say that the devs know that there are problems. Yelling about it and threatening to quit or whatever aren't going to change anything.

If I were in your situation and couldn't play, I'd either quit playing until I saw a patch that improves the things I feel make it unplayable, or I'd do research into things that could make it more playable. In my case, it was as simple as getting a new video card (which I was going to do anyway). I don't group. If grouping is always unplayable, then there's not much help I can give you.

As for your need to worry about other people... don't. So someone can play.. there are a lot of people who can play and there are a lot of people who can't. Your need to compete is still a "mindset" thing. What does it matter that they are getting better gear or further ahead of you?

You totally missed the point. Currency inflation is already becoming an issue. My point isn't about leveling or gear its about currency plain and simple. I solo 100% of the time and I don't need to measure peens. My main concern is that before OB there were problems but my video card did just fine for the most part. Translation: It was playable. It was playable for me upon OB launch. The last two patches have made it unplayable and a Dev just said no big deal. I have come to the conclusion that the devs have a lot lower target number in mind for steady clientell than I thought. Clearly the only players that matter to them are the ones who spend thousands on gaming gear and can and will devote 12 hours a day to playing. It just sucks because I really do enjoy this game and have been looking for something like this for years now. Sigh....back to hunting and hoping that I can find a good ARPG somewhere.

There are some effects we are unable to preload at the moment, and we'll improve this in future! As for general effects framerate loss, we're going to be optimizing a lot of this kind of thing later in development, but while everything is currently subject to change, this isn't a priority.

Hmmm. I think I may be done with the game for now. I'll come back at the end of the year if I'm not playing elder scrolls online by then...

I really like this game, but it is just unplayable at this moment in time.

Please record yourself in a full party on the Docks spamming down a pack, I want to see your "fairly decent" PC never drop under 30fps. A cellphone video will do, just make sure the Fraps counter is visible.

That will shut that guy up pretty damn quick.

FRAPs video, not video of FRAPs Fps. It's recording and keeping 30Fps.
Ever since the last big patch (dualist one and the new LA effects, etc) my game has been pretty much unplayable in a party. Before it used to lag a bit but now it's stuttering so much, even without anything much going on the screen.

You're playing at a low resolution though, right?
1000 users having low fps on various systems > 1 user with good fps on a random system/ random settings.

I'd be curious to know what resolution you're using too.

My setup:

AMD FX-8320 8 core running at 4GHZ
8GB generic DDR3-1600
HIS H777F1G2M iCooler Radeon HD 7770 1024MB GDDR5
1TB SATA 6gb/sec

... total system cost me $450 to build.

1366x768 (TV, playing at 1080 8 feet away doesn't work out very well), all settings maxed, no issues. Vsync off FPS is usually 170+, Vsync on it's only dropped under 60 due to lag before a dc.

Wow.. someone on a Radeon card without issues? That's a new one to me. Good to hear though.

1080 hasn't had as much play, but the little I did played fine. With no drops under 60 (vsync'ed)at 1366x768 and unvsync showing 150-170 do you really believe 1080 is going to bump it under 60? Frames drop at higher resolutions, but not by 100fps.
