2 Blitz(?) PvP Bugs - "Resurrect" and Opponent Divulged [edit: now 8 bug reports]

You ran some test events but didn't fully fix the bug i reported at the time...

In Blitz (Standard?) events, sometimes when you die, you actually die and it takes you out of the event and gives you the "Resurrect at Town/Checkpoint" buttons. After you sit there for a while you realize you have to resurrect, then reenter the event. Broken.


About 10% of the time, when you join a Blitz (any?) match it tells you your opponent's character name.

Someone pointed out:

"Something I noticed this time around is that it announces the name of whoever joins red team, but not blue team before the match starts. That gives a tiny advantage to whoever is blue, since they can see who they're against and adjust accordingly if they've been against them before."


Edit: the above is not correct, i've been both sides without seeing an opponent's name. It's a more subtle/intermittent bug. In fact it's possible both bugs in the OP are related. E.g. a game is flagged as some kind of bugged mode; shows your opponent; when you die it gives you resurrect popups.

Bump. And another pvp bug:

FFA the scoreboard sometimes pops up after respawning, which is really, really annoying. [rant]I also reported this during the test events and it wasn't fixed. What was the point of the test events again? :P The few people that actually test and give bug reports, are ignored.

Xmas time i guess, test events were for the absolute bare minimum? Pretty lame excuse for shoddy work if you ask me. Maybe next xmas ensure nothing new is starting in the month of December. You can't both have new content for us for the holidays, and test it, without employees. New content or vacation, you choose. :P[/rant]

I think it might be video lag related or maybe latency related, which means you'll probably have trouble replicating it. Regardless, it's really fucking annoying. Maybe try playing FFA on the realm that gives you the highest ping, with the shittiest machine in the office?

That or don't send the "display scoreboard" message after you start zoning into new arena.

And another pvp bug.

Group CTF events say (emphasis mine) "You may queue as a party of up to 6 players in this event. All party members must be in the same game instance while queuing."

Yet if you try to queue up solo it errors saying "Unable to join PvP queue because: Your party isn't large enough to play in this PvP match."

Unadressed bug#6 in this thread: In FFA Arena, you sometimes randomly don't spawn with an invulnerability shield. Some video evidence (it happens to him twice in a row, at 5:22:20 and 5:22:30): www.twitch.tv/morsrageng/b/604307142?t=5h22m17s

Same when getting switched for rebalancing, sometimes you get an invulnerability shield, and sometimes you don't.

Note that spawn camping is still an issue even if you fix invulnerability. Surely spawn camping is a solved problem in other pvp games by now, so i'd suggest researching that a little.


Edit: #7&8: your pots that are ticking stop ticking when you get moved. Solution: refill all pots when you get moved. Note that sometimes all my pots already do get refilled when moved, but not always. :P

Possible bug or exploit, not sure how Greendude (the voice that can be heard talking on Mumble) had priviledged information just from spectating. He told WillyWonka who his opponent was before the opponent (MidWestHam) was even on the screen.

I don't think it was intentional or anything, but something needs to be fixed.
