How much Resist and Health should i have?

i just made a witch and plan to get this one to be my main. i'm doing a fireball crit build and was wondering just how much health should i have around 40, 60, 70 and so on and how much elemental / chaos resist should i shoot for ?
You can get away without any points in HP nodes or anything up until you hit cruel, just using +40hp leather belts and random +25hp rings will suffice.

By the time you're in cruel you should at least get 5-6 hp nodes and wear some gear with +hp.

Merciless you should have like 1.5-2k health to farm the ledge/jungle for exp.

Capped fire resist and 2.5k hp is what I'd suggest to solo the docks.

This is assuming you wear a shield though, and chaos resist is fine at -60 very few mobs are actually a threat with chaos damage.

well depending on the build your going.

with a witch and your main defense being energy shield, you should have enough health such that you wont get 1 shot by chaos damage. and then your resists at the very least should cover the difficulty's resistance penalty.

which is -20% on cruel, and -60% on merciless those are the numbers you should be hitting at the very least. though depending on the area you'll want more. keep a few different rings to switch in and out from.

some notable places are like facing mervil and her kind, you'll want some cold resistance.

facing peity and her army you'll want lightning.

the more the better. just make sure you dont go over the cap of 75% unless you have something to extend it

max hp also dictates how much you get stunned when getting hit. ES does give a 50% bonus to stun resist.
as well as burned, shocked and frozen when hit by elemental damage.

But as low HP chars usually, witches often have a problem with getting stunlocked, when they do get hit, or chain frozen, take heavy burn damage.

Health is a bit too good atm. Maruaders with iron will or iron grip, and blood magic make the best casters, bow ranged attackers pretty much as well...


In general defense is more important then offense. monsters attacks scale much faster then their defenses do.
