Forum Online Status
Just a thought. Maybe it's only because I post so much that I am wondering but.
Would it be possible to know who is online and viewing the forums? This thread has been automatically archived. Replies are disabled.

i like this idea also, and could you guys implement a favorite button or subscribe button so one could save all the forums he was interested in instead of digging through the pages?

These requests depend on the features available on the forum engine GGG is using for PoE. I'm a moderator on a li'l sci-fi fandom board elsewhere on teh intertubes, and I know that what you see on some boards is not necessarily available on all (or even the same one, after the folks who do your board decide they want to do an "up-yoursgrade").
I suspect GGG selected this board, and these features, for economy, a simple board for discussion of the game, without quite so many bells and whistles. Might be they'll buy it more chrome, once the game is released with the online store, and the cash flow becomes positive. But, yeah, there are things I'd love to see here, too. =^[.]^= =^[.]^= basic (happy/amused) cheetahmoticon: Whiskers/eye/tear-streak/nose/tear-streak/eye/

Isn't this board made by ggg? I mean while in the forum you can see all your ingame chars and your stash and can easily link items and all. And there is only a copyright sign from GGG and no other company.
I think over time the board will get more features. Last edited by siis#7407 on Oct 24, 2011, 11:03:09 AM

I'm fairly certain GGG wrote their own forum software. I remember a few questions being asked on this a long time ago.
It makes sense, as it would save them the cost of licensing and allow full control for all the features they want, such as item-linking. Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.

That's a smart move on their part. And one annoying thing some games site do is start on one set of forums then switch to a different forum because of some issues/policy concerns that come up.
Having their own forums is nice. But if that is the case while I would love forum online status if it takes time from people who are making the game I would gladly wait till later. |
